The prequel’s logline reveals the backstory of the tyrannical President of Panem, Coriolanus Snow (Blyth), and how he became the last hope for his fading lineage. As the 10th annual Hunger Games approaches, Snow is tasked with mentoring Lucy Gray Baird (Zegler), the girl tribute from impoverished District 12. Together, they use their showmanship and newfound political savvy to survive the brutal Hunger Games, revealing who is a songbird and a snake.

Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, alongside Lawrence, produced the prequel, while Michael Arndt and Michael Lesslie adapted Collins’ novel. Collins, Jim Miller, Tim Palen, and Mika Saito served as executive producers.
