Can Mia Goth Save Marvel’s Blade Reboot?
In a daring twist of fate, Mia Goth, the rising horror aficionado who made waves with her performances in X and the narratively lackluster Pearl, is taking a bold leap into Marvel’s darker cinematic realm. Goth has just been confirmed as a last-minute addition to the upcoming Marvel Studios’ Blade reboot. Let me guess… she’ll be playing an ethereal over-the-top vampire bitch?
Blade, starring Mahershala Ali as the iconic half-human, half-vampire protagonist, follows the story of a man seeking vengeance on vampires for the death of his mother. The project is guided by Yann Demange, the director behind Lovecraft Country. While the original Blade trilogy, starring Wesley Snipes, still holds a special place in our hearts, we’ll keep an open mind about this new rendition. With Goth’s addition to the cast and the fresh direction the project is taking, we’re cautiously optimistic about the future of Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe despite its many setbacks on its road to its September 6th, 2024 release.
Goth’s upcoming projects include shooting MaXXXine, the third installment in A24 and filmmaker Ti West’s X series, before joining the Blade production in June. Will that movie be more X or Pearl, we don’t know, but sure it’s bound to have nudity!
