Monsters BLUniversity! — MU Hits Blu-ray And It’s A Great Education!

Sequels and prequels are a tricky thing. When a classic film becomes so beloved by so many, no follow-up can be all things to all people. This is why so many follow-ups fail. Pixar is well-aware of this, and instead of merely rushing out a lazy product with the sole goal of keeping a franchise alive to sell more toys at the Disney Store… they go the other direction. Each Toy Story sequel introduced new characters we loved every bit as much as the original gang. Cars 2’s spy caper was a completely different genre than its predecessor. And Monsters University is the rare prequel that somehow manages to make you love your favorite Monsters even more than you have since they Incorporated back in 2001. Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University hits Blu-ray and DVD today and it’s a must-own for not just fans of the original, not just fans of Disney/Pixar, but for fans of GREAT STORYTELLING.
