Stan Winston Auction Has Awesome Movie Memorabilia You Can’t Afford

T-Rex Head (JP)

Any movie auction that has a giant T-Rex head from Jurassic Park for sale is good in my book, so I’m excited to share details on an upcoming auction around the legendary Stan Winston. Terminators, Predators, Jurassic Park dinosaurs and more are all up for grabs, but my personal favorite is the screen-used T-800 modeled after Arnold Schwarzenegger. That would look awesome next to my giant Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Scorpion King foam bust! Unfortunately, I don’t have a spare $100K to burn on toys.

The event takes place on October 8th and 9th, and you can place your bids at this site.

For more details on what’s there, check out these Stan Winston auction photos (Terminator, Jurassic Park and Predator inside) and for more on what the cost of some of these items is, look below.

Profiles in History is proud to be entrusted by Mr. Winston’s family to handle the sale of artifacts that sprung from his magnificent imagination, as they present 85 lots of props, costumes and set pieces-some of them enormous in size-from films including the Jurassic Park, Terminator and Predator franchises, A.I.: Artificial Intelligence and many more. This unprecedented sale will be part of Profiles in History’s Hollywood memorabilia auction taking place October 8-9, 2009. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these items will fund the new Stan Winston Visual Effects Scholarship at the University of Southern California Film School.

Highlights from the 85 lots from Stan Winston Studio, with conservative estimated sale prices include:
An original hero screen-used T-800 endoskeleton from T2 3-D: Battle Across Time ($80,000-$120,000), an original full-scale T-800 endoskeleton from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines ($60,000-$80,000-please note-this was used for computer graphics reference for the making of Terminator 3. Unlike Terminator 2, which used full-scale endoskeleton puppets, there were no physical T-800 endoskeletons used in the production of T3), a screen-used Terminator T-800 complete costume and display from Terminator 2: Judgment Day, a 65 inches wide x 9 feet long x 77 inches tall screen-used T-1 battle-ready armored drone from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, a screen-used full-scale T-X “Terminatrix” endoskeleton from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, an imposing 9 ½ feet tall, full-size “Predator” display from Predator and Predator 2, a T-Rex maquette from Jurassic Park, a 120 inches long and 52 inches wide, a screen-used full-scale Spinosaur head from Jurassic Park III ($40,000-$60,000 EACH) and a full-scale male T-Rex head display from Jurassic Park ($30,000-$50,000), measuring an incredible 68 inches tall (on base) and 98 inches in length.

PAST Stan Winston Studio created items sold by Profiles in History have yielded astounding results, including a full-scale model T-800 Endoskeleton from Terminator 2: Judgment Day that sold for $488,750, a full-scale T-Rex head from Jurassic Park that sold for $126,500, a hydraulic screen-used Velociraptor from The Lost World: Jurassic Park II that sold for $115,000, a screen-used T-1 battle-ready armored drone from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines which sold for $109,250 and a full body, screen-used Terminator (T-800 model with costume) from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines that sold for $74,750.

  1. I love your stories really much because they are spelled in an understandable style. So I can learn them although I come from Austria and get some troubles to translate English articles.
