THE WACKNESS…
…that is Blindness. I wasn’t even going to bother posting because I refused to give this Katrina shelter meets Lord of the Flies as done by the powers of the Really F*cking Obvious even ten more minutes of my life, but I had to say this : can the creative community as a whole please stop with the cathartic moments in the rain? Please? As dramatic as I tend to be I’ve never once, never even THOUGHT about, standing out in the rain and letting it wash all my troubles away. Usually rain just makes my day that much worse. Writers, directors, please, no more with the cleansing rain sequences OK? Also, instead of ”re-imaging” movies that were great to begin with (Angel Heart, Poltergeist) have a go at movies like this instead, great premise, awful execution. Next to the box office results on Sunday I want to read : “Guillermo del Toro, rebooting Blindness!”
To borrow a line from Burnt, I don’t see…why you went.”
I still might go. I’m deciding between Eagle Eye and this, and I’ll most likely hit both.
Don’t do it, eros. The Eagle will leave you full of bird shit.
