While promoting his upcoming film Mickey-17, Pattinson has been bombarded with questions about the highly anticipated Batman sequel. “The scent of the cowl, especially with Batman, is quite noticeable. Well, it’s leather. But it’s also a combination – because you’re sealed in a leather mask, but you’re also extremely anxious all the time. And leather is porous, so it really takes on an emotional scent.”

Pattinson further added, “When I did the audition for Batman, I had to try on all the different cowls from actors who’d previously portrayed the role. Even from 20 years ago, they all still had the distinct smell of each individual actor. It’s quite peculiar. I think Clooney probably smelled the best.”

It’s understandable that Pattinson would have tried on different batsuits during the audition process, given what fans know about the rigorous casting rituals for superhero roles.
