Dragons not big business

So Peter Jackson gears up on his Napoleonic Wars meets Smaug endeavor, the adaptation of the Temeraire series of books, but interestingly enough, dragons have never made for big box office. How sad. ;( Of the Top 6 Dragon-focused films, Dragonheart leads the charge with $51M, my favorite Reign of Fire at $43M, and the new guy, Eragon at $39M. Considering inflation, doesn’t seem the movie was able to find enough riders.
