– Christensen previously played Anakin Skywalker in 2002’s Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and 2005’s Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith before returning in the Star Wars show Obi-Wan Kenobi and the first season of Ahsoka.

Hayden Christensen will once again portray the beloved character of Anakin Skywalker in the second season of Ahsoka, a Lucasfilm Disney+ series that features actress Rosario Dawson. This news was unveiled at the Star Wars Celebration event hosted in Tokyo, Japan.

The creator of Ahsoka, Dave Filoni, was joined by executive producer Jon Favreau and star Rosario Dawson on stage for an informative panel. They provided insights on the show’s creation and reflected on the first season. Moreover, Filoni and Favreau spoke about the influences behind the show, including the significant impact of Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke and the fondness George Lucas has for the character Ahsoka. Dawson revealed that production for Ahsoka’s second season would commence the following week.

In a gripping moment, a short scene featuring Anakin and Ahsoka was screened, after which, to the audience’s delight, Christensen made his appearance. However, the confirmation of his return was reserved until the panel’s conclusion, with him stating, “There’s not much I can share, but Anakin will be back for season two.”

Additionally, Filoni informed that Rory McCann would take over the role of Baylan Skoll from the late Ray Stevenson, who passed away in May 2023. Fans may look forward to Admiral Akbar confronting Grand Admiral Thrawn in the forthcoming season.

Christensen is well-known for his portrayal of the future Darth Vader in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005). His reprised the roles of Anakin and Vader in the Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi, later appearing in two episodes of Ahsoka’s inaugural season, with his appearance digitally rejuvenated.

Curiously, the star has generated significant attention at this year’s Celebration event, offering autographs and photos alongside notable Star Wars celebrities such as Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Mads Mikkelson from Rogue One, Diego Luna from Andor, and Ahmed Best (Jar Jar Binks), among others. Christensen, who has been away from the screen after completing his Star Wars projects in the early 2000s, has seemingly emerged as one of the event’s primary attractions.
