Jurassic Park’s Sam Neill is set to encounter more giant creatures, but this time in the MonsterVerse. He is the latest addition to the star-studded cast of the next film in this Legendary franchise, following the successful 2024 film ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’. The movie made a whopping $571 million globally. Joining Neill is Kaitlyn Dever and Jack O’Connell, with direction by Grant Sputore. The MonsterVerse, launched in 2014, has grossed over $2.5 billion across multiple films, earning a well-received spinoff series on Apple TV+.


Sam Neill Joins MonsterVerse Cast After Godzilla x Kong’s Massive Success

– Jurassic Park star Sam Neill is joining the cast of the next MonsterVerse movie at Legendary, following the success of the 2024 film ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’.
– No plot specifics have been released, but the film will introduce several new human characters alongside Godzilla and Kong, and is directed by Grant Sputore with a script by Dave Callaham.
– The MonsterVerse franchise, launched in 2014, has grossed over $2.5 billion globally and also spun off into a popular Apple TV+ series, while Neill recently appeared in the Peacock series ‘Apples Never Fall’ and will be seen next on Netflix in ‘Untamed’.


Sam Neill’s penchant for engaging with mammoth and fearsome creatures is not quenched. The luminary actor from Jurassic Park signs up for the forthcoming MonsterVerse movie under the Legendary banner.

The impending film is a sequel to 2024’s hit Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which garnered a staggering $571 million in worldwide box office collections. The storyline for the fresh entry is, for now, a closely guarded secret. As per the studio, however, the film beholds “several fresh human characters sharing screen space with the much-loved and emblematic giants, Godzilla and Kong, who are up in arms against an impending threat that could potentially obliterate the world.” The helm of directorial duties belongs to Grant Sputore working on the screenplay by Dave Callaham.

Neill is now a newcomer in the franchise, joining Kaitlyn Dever and juxtaposing the human cast comprises her on-screen sibling played by Jack O’Connell, and Dan Stevens, who portrayed the easygoing monster vet and dentist, Trapper, in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

Legendary’s MonsterVerse has been on a roll since 2014 with the release of Godzilla. Since then, the blockbuster series has raked in a total of $2.5 billion in global box office figures from movies like Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). Also, the MonsterVerse has branched out to produce a well-received Apple TV+ series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, with a second season under production.

He is set to reappear next in Netflix’s mystery series, Untamed. He gained massive popularity through his role as Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park and later reprised the role in Jurassic Park III (2001) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022).
