WB Confirms New Gremlins and Beetlejuice Movies

The news of a new Gremlins movie will surely bring a smile to the faces of many fans. It was previously reported in January that Chris Columbus, who wrote the original 1984 Gremlins film, was working on a new installment for the franchise. And now, thanks to the interview with Warner Bros. executives, we can officially confirm that the Gremlins will be making a comeback.

But that’s not all, as Abdy stated in the interview, “We’re super excited about Amblin developing with Chris Columbus, new entries in the Gremlins and Goonies franchises.” This means that not only will we be getting a new Gremlins movie, but there are also plans for a new Goonies film in the works. Could it get any better than this?

For those who may not be familiar with the original Gremlins film, it tells the story of a young man who receives a strange creature called a Mogwai as a pet. However, he soon discovers that the Mogwai has some very specific rules that must be followed, or it will transform into a dangerous Gremlin. The film was a huge success and has become a cult classic, spawning a sequel in 1990.

It’s clear that Warner Bros. is not afraid to tap into the nostalgia of audiences and bring back beloved films for a new generation. This trend has been seen with the success of recent reboots and sequels, such as Jumanji and Blade Runner 2049. And with the passionate fanbases of Gremlins and Beetlejuice, these new projects are sure to be a hit.
