Irish actor, Jack Reynor, is set to star in a unique version of “The Mummy,” directed by Lee Cronin and produced by Atomic Monster and Blumhouse, under Cronin’s banner, Doppelgängers. Production will begin next week in Ireland, with final film set for release on April 17, 2026. The plot is a closely guarded secret, but Reynor will reportedly play a family man confronting disturbing supernatural forces.

– Irish actor Jack Reynor, known for his roles in Transformers: Age of Extinction and The Perfect Couple, has been cast in Lee Cronin’s new film, The Mummy. The horror film will be produced by New Line Cinema, Atomic Monster, Blumhouse, and Doppelgängers and is set to release on April 17, 2026.
– Reynor will play a father and husband who encounters supernaturally sinister forces. While plot details are not yet released, director Cronin promises the film will be unlike any other Mummy movies before.
– The film begins production in Ireland next week with James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville as producers and Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Macdara Kelleher as executive producers. Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are co-financing the film.


Jack Reynor has been confirmed to be the lead actor in Lee Cronin’s forthcoming rendition of The Mummy, brought to audiences by New Line Cinema. The production companies involved in the movie include Atomic Monster and Blumhouse. Doppelgängers, the company led by Cronin, is also in charge of production. Cronin has previously directed other successful horror movies like Evil Dead Rise under New Line.

Shooting for the movie is scheduled to start next week in Ireland, with the release date marked as April 17, 2026. There hasn’t been much disclosure in regards to the plot, but Reynor is rumored to be a character who’s a father and a husband, caught up against overwhelming supernatural forces.

Earlier in December, Cronin interviewed with The Hollywood Reporter, stating that his version of the classic mummy story will surprise viewers. He intends to unearth something ancient and terrifying, promising it will be a unique version that has never been seen before.

Both Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are financing the film. The producers named for the project are James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville, with Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Macdara Kelleher handling the executive production. Oversight for the project at Atomic Monster will be managed by Alayna Glasthal.

Reynor, originally from Ireland, has previously acted in lead roles in films such as Transformers: Age of Extinction, Ari Aster’s Midsommar, and John Carney’s Sing Street. He was also part of the main cast of The Perfect Couple, a prominent crime series on Netflix that premiered recently.
