Delroy Lindo Joins Growing Cast of Legendary’s MonsterVerse Franchise

Delroy Lindo, known for his roles in Get Shorty and Gone in 60 Seconds, has joined the cast of Legendary’s MonsterVerse franchise. Known within the franchise for its massive, iconic titans, including Godzilla and King Kong, Lindo’s role in the forthcoming movie is yet to be revealed.

– Veteran actor Delroy Lindo has joined the cast of the latest installment in Legendary’s Godzilla-King Kong movie franchise, known as the MonsterVerse. He will play the boss of Kaitlyn Dever’s character at Monarch, a scientific organization that interacts with the monsters.
– The MonsterVerse franchise, which launched in 2014, has become a massive box office success. Last year’s film, “Godzilla x Kong,” was the most successful.
– Lindo is an acclaimed actor known for his performances in films like “Get Shorty” and “Gone in 60 Seconds,” as well as his frequent collaborations with filmmaker Spike Lee. His next film, “Sinners,” will be released by Warners on April 18.

The respected actor known for multiple roles, Delroy Lindo, is scheduled for his next appearance as a vampire fighter in Ryan Coogler’s forthcoming movie, Sinners. He recently signed a contract to join a world renowned movie franchise, the Godzilla-King Kong series from Legendary.

The movie, directed by Grant Sputore of “I Am Mother” fame, belongs to the MonsterVerse genre depicting enormous monsters and the grappling humans caught amidst them.

Although the script details, written by David Callaham, are tightly under wraps, Legendary has hinted that the narrative will involve several new human characters. The iconic Titans Godzilla and Kong will share screen space with them while addressing a threat that could lead to world destruction.

Newcomer to the franchise, Kaitlyn Dever, has been cast as the lead human character along with Jack O’Connell who will play her brother, and Dan Stevens who will reprise his role as the easy-going monster veterinarian and dentist, Trapper, in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

According to insiders, Lindo is assigned the character of Dever’s boss at Monarch, a surreptitious scientific agency that at times aids, at other times chases the colossal creatures.

The MonsterVerse franchise from Legendary, launched in 2014 with Godzilla, is now over a decade old. Five sequels have been produced till date with the most recent, Godzilla x Kong, turning out to be a blockbuster hit. In addition, a well-received series titled, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, was spun-off on Apple TV+.

Having starred in movies like Get Shorty and Gone in 60 Seconds, Lindo is a seasoned actor who frequently collaborates with Spike Lee. He gained significant applause for his intense portrayal in Da 5 Bloods, Lee’s war drama from 2019 featuring Chadwick Boseman.

Lindo just wrapped up the Hulu series Unprisoned, co-starring with Kerry Washington. He is ready to make a grand re-entry to the silver screen with the movie, Sinners, which Warner Bros. is set to release on April 18. Lindo co-leads this supernatural thriller with Michael B. Jordan, and the film interweaves vampiric folklore with Southern mystical traditions.
