Sharkmob has officially given the green light, opened the hangar doors, and announced a public playtest for their new open world extraction shooter game, Exoborne. Described as a mix between Anthem, Just Cause, and PUBG, the game is now available for testing on Steam until February 17th. Players can experience the thrill of mech-o-looting in a world filled with whirlwinds, broken cities, and futuristic towers.

In Exoborne, players take on the role of a “Reborn” adventurer equipped with an exosuit that allows for high jumps, grappling, and parachuting. The goal is to complete quests, collect valuable items, and extract before time runs out, all while battling other players and NPCs. The game is designed for groups of three, with different exo-rigs similar to RPG classes. The home hub area allows players to interact with story characters and gear up for their next mission.

The game’s premise revolves around Project Rebirth, a failed environmental project that has led to chaos and destruction. Players must navigate dangerous weather phenomena and hostile enemies to succeed in their missions. While the idea of combining different genres may sound exciting, some players have expressed concerns about the game’s art direction and overall lack of uniqueness.

As of now, Exoborne does not have a confirmed release date, but the beta testing phase will help gather feedback from players. If you’re interested in trying out this innovative new game, be sure to check out the trailer and give Exoborne a try on Steam before the playtest ends.
