Kinetic Games has unveiled its exciting roadmap for Phasmophobia in 2025, offering fans a glimpse of the terrifying updates that are in store for the popular ghost hunting game. With over 2 million copies sold on console and a total of 22 million in sales since last November, Phasmophobia continues to captivate players worldwide.

One of the major updates planned for this year is the Chronicle update, which will bring significant changes to the game. The journal will undergo a revamp, altering the way Ghost Hunters capture evidence. The Photos tab will be replaced with a Media tab, featuring sections for Photos, Videos, and Sound Recordings. Any photographic, audio, or visual evidence collected will be logged in the corresponding pages.

Another major change coming with Chronicle is the introduction of a new media quality system. The first capture of any media type will be labeled as “Unique,” offering players substantial rewards in terms of cash and XP at the end of a contract. Duplicates, on the other hand, will yield lower rewards.

The update will also introduce the Sound Recorder, a new piece of equipment that allows players to record unique paranormal sounds. These recordings can then be played back in the updated journal, providing valuable clues that may have previously been overlooked in the chaos of a ghostly encounter.

In addition to these gameplay changes, Phasmophobia will see updates to its maps. Bleasdale Farmhouse is set to receive a complete overhaul, with visual enhancements and a redesigned layout. Players can look forward to exploring a new garden area outside the main living room, complete with ghost rooms and other revamped locations. Grafton Farmhouse will also receive an update later in the year.

Looking ahead, the developers have exciting plans for the future of Phasmophobia. A player character overhaul, a new small map, and seasonal updates for Easter, Halloween, and the Holiday season are all on the horizon for 2025. And the plans for 2026 are already taking shape, with reworks of house maps, the introduction of even more new maps, and the highly anticipated Horror 2.0 update in development.
