Radio Silence Gears Up for “Ready or Not” Sequel

Horror film production company, Radio Silence, famous for revitalizing the Scream franchise, has switched agencies, moving from UTA to CAA. The group, consisting of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, recently directed 2024’s vampire thriller “Abigail”. Having seen success with supernatural horror and black comedy genres, they are now priming for a sequel to their hit, “Ready or Not”.


Radio Silence Gears Up for “Ready or Not” Sequel

– Radio Silence, known for reviving the Scream franchise and delivering films such as Ready or Not, has shifted from UTA to sign with CAA.
– Comprised of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the banner recently delivered Universal’s vampire thriller Abigail and are now preparing for a sequel to Ready or Not with Searchlight Pictures.
– Despite producer Chad Villella’s departure, the duo also plans to proceed with the success from their Scream franchise, bringing in stars like Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega.


Renowned horror film production house, Radio Silence, credited with the successful revival of the cult classic Scream series, has recently shifted its alliances and has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

Previously associated with United Talent Agency (UTA), the shift marks a new beginning for the production house.

Radio Silence is made up of the directorial team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who most recently showcased their genius in creating the 2024 vampire thriller ‘Abigail’ under the banner of Universal. Chad Villella, previously a producer with the outfit, is no longer part of this renowned team.

This talented duo, in the infant phase of their career, created noted horror segments for anthologies like V/H/S and Southbound. However, their career propelled to new heights with their first feature film, the supernatural horror – Devil’s Due in 2014. The film, made within a budget of million, struck gold and grossed around million.

Of their successful ventures, the 2019 black humor horror ‘Ready or Not’ made a significant impact and was a box-office success. Produced within a modest budget of about million, the film earned a whopping million.

Post the success of ‘Ready or Not’, Radio Silence was handed the reins to revive the legendary Scream series. Their creative genius first manifested in Scream in 2022, followed by Scream VI in 2023. These films, featuring Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, marked a huge success.

Engaged with the creation of Abigail, Barrera, Dan Stevens, and Kathryn Newton, among others, were chosen as the leads.

Emboldened by their previous successes, the directorial duo of Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett are currently setting the wheels in motion for a sequel of ‘Ready or Not’. The team is uniting once again with the star of ‘Ready or Not’, Samara Weaving and collaborating with Searchlight Pictures. Shooting is planned for the upcoming spring.

The professional relationship of Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett extends above and beyond Radio Silence and the duo continues to be represented by attorney Tara Kole from Johnson Shapiro, signifying their continuous professional engagement and unyielding commitment within the industry.
