In an exciting announcement on Bluesky, Gunn shared the first photo of Milly Alcock as the iconic superhero, Supergirl. Alcock, known for her role in House of the Dragon, will be portraying Kara Zor-El in the film. The photo showcased Alcock seated in her actor’s chair, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come. The comic presents a self-contained story following an extraterrestrial girl named Ruthye Marye Knoll, who seeks Supergirl’s assistance in seeking vengeance for her father’s murder at the hands of the nefarious villain, Krem of the Yellow Hills. The cast of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow boasts an impressive lineup, including Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem and Eve Ridley portraying Ruthye. Furthermore, David Krumholtz will take on the role of Supergirl’s father, Zor-El, while Emily Beecham will portray her mother. Notably, Jason Momoa will also join the DC universe in the film, taking on the character of Lobo, who has been newly introduced in the series.

Supergirl serves as the second installment in the burgeoning new DC universe, following the highly anticipated release of James Gunn’s Superman film later this summer.
