Microsoft’s latest announcement on Xbox Wire introduces the lineup of titles for the Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2. The announcement precedes the Xbox Developer Direct on January 23, where fans will witness the unveiling of several day one Game Pass games, which includes highly anticipated titles such as Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a mysterious fourth reveal. The Game PassWave 2 kicks off with Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders on January 21, followed by several other exciting games throughout the month of January and into early February. Additionally, a number of games will be leaving Game Pass at the end of January.

– Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, Flock, Gigantic: Rampage Edition, Magical Delicacy, Tchia, The Case of the Golden Idol, Starbound, Eternal Strands, Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap, Shady Part of Me, Sniper Elite: Resistance, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, and Far Cry New Dawn are among the games joining Game Pass.
– Several games, including Anuchard, Broforce Forever, Darkest Dungeon, and Death’s Door, will be leaving Game Pass on January 31, 2025.

The January 2025 Wave 2 started on January 21 with the inclusion of Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This game offers players an exhilarating experience of conquering mountains in a snowy setting. With cross-platform multiplayer support for up to eight players, you can choose to work together or engage in a thrilling race to the finish line.

On January 22, Game Pass Standard subscribers can look forward to playing Flock, a multiplayer co-op game that allows you to fly through stunning landscapes and collect adorable flying creatures with friends. Gigantic: Rampage Edition, a premium release of the original MOBA hero shooter, also joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard on the same day. This game offers an exciting team-based multiplayer experience, where players must work together to control objectives and defeat the opposing team.

Capcom’s Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will be available on Game Pass Standard starting January 22. This unique Japanese-inspired Kagura action strategy game takes players on a challenging journey to cleanse a defiled mountain and restore peace to the land.

January 22 brings further additions to Game Pass Standard, including Magical Delicacy, Tchia, and The Case of the Golden Idol. Meanwhile, Starbound, a game that has already launched on PC Game Pass, will arrive on Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard, offering players a sandbox experience in a vast universe.

On January 28, Eternal Strands, the debut fantasy title from Yellow Brick Games, will be released as a day one launch on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This action-adventure game allows players to fight epic creatures and blend magical abilities with powerful weapons to save the world from destruction.

The same day marks the arrival of Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This action-packed shooter and trap defense game lets players evolve as an orc-slaying War Mage and obliterate massive hordes with up to four players.

Moving on to January 29, Shady Part of Me releases on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. This emotional and dream-like journey takes players on a poetic adventure, where they must overcome struggles and cooperate with their shadow to progress.

A major release on January 30 is Sniper Elite: Resistance, which will be available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as a day one release. This game offers unparalleled sniping mechanics, stealth, and tactical combat, set in the heart of occupied France during a hidden war. The full campaign can be experienced in co-op, making it even more exciting.
