David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham have joined the cast of “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,” directed by Craig Gillespie for DC Studios. The film, which is based on the comic book mini-series by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, the cousin of Superman. Krumholtz and Beecham will play Supergirl’s parents in the movie. “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” is one of the first features developed by DC Studios and will begin shooting in the UK.

David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham have joined the cast of the upcoming film Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, directed by Craig Gillespie for Warner Bros. Discovery’s DC Studios. The film, which began shooting this week in Leavesden, UK, is based on the comic book mini-series by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. Milly Alcock, known for her role in House of the Dragon, will star as Kara Zor-El, the cousin of Superman.

The script, written by Ana Nogueira, is said to draw inspiration from the comic but it remains unclear how faithful it will be to the original source material. The mini-series diverged from traditional superhero narratives by focusing on a cosmic character piece, exploring various worlds and alien cultures. The story followed a young alien girl named Ruthye as she sought revenge against Krem of the Yellow Hills, the man responsible for her father’s death.

Eve Ridley has been cast as Ruthye, while Matthias Schoenaerts will play the role of Krem. Furthermore, Jason Momoa is set to make a cameo appearance as the alien bounty hunter Lobo. Krumholtz and Beecham will portray Supergirl’s parents in the film.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is one of the first projects developed by DC Studios, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Milly Alcock was chosen as Supergirl nearly a year ago and will make her first appearance in Gunn’s Superman movie. The production for Supergirl is set to begin this winter and will take place in the UK.

David Krumholtz has been in the acting industry since his teenage years and is well-known for his roles in The Santa Clause movies. He also starred in the CBS crime drama Numbers for six seasons in the late 2000s. He recently appeared in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, portraying Nobel Prize-winner Isidor Rabi.

Emily Beecham is recognized for her role in the mind-bending series 1899 on Netflix and has also appeared in the Guy Ritchie thriller The Covenant alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. She will be seen this month in the historical epic William Tell.
