Gladiator 2 Release Date Confirmed by Paramount Pictures for Thanksgiving 2024 with Paul Mescal in Talks to Join Cast
Paramount Pictures has set a release date for the upcoming sequel to “Gladiator,” directed by Ridley Scott. Gladiator 2 will hit theaters on November 22, 2024, just before the Thanksgiving holiday.
Paul Mescal, recently nominated for an Academy Award for his role in “Normal People,” is in talks to join the cast, playing Lucius, the son of Lucilla, as previously reported by Deadline. Scott will produce the film with Michael Pruss, Doug Wick, and Lucy Fisher, based on a screenplay by David Scarpa. The film takes place years after the events of the first “Gladiator” and will not feature Russell Crowe’s character Maximus, who died in the original film. The weekend of November 22 is currently unoccupied by other major releases, with a Disney animated film set to be released on November 27.
