TRON Gets Animated In 2011

The animated series “Tron: Uprising” will air on Disney XD in the summer of 2012.

The series is being developed by Samurai Jack’s Charlie Bean, who will exec produce and direct it. Tron: Legacy writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are also working on the project and will serve as consulting producers.

The awesome voice cast includes Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens, Nate Corddry, Lance Henriksen, and Bruce Boxleitner will also reprise his role as Tron!

The series will focus on a character named Beck (Wood), who leads a revolution inside The Grid’s computer world.

Disney TV Animation is bringing the project to life, and Disney Channels Worldwide entertainment prexy Gary Marsh called the new show “a culmination of an extraordinary collaboration between Disney Television Animation and our feature film studio.”
