CBSvideoAd

Imagine opening up a magazine and watching video clips of new fall TV shows. CBS is doing just that next month. The network is partnering with Pepsi to launch what it claims to be the first-ever use of video in a print advertisement.

Using a paper-thin video player, CBS is packaging clips and promos into select copies of Entertainment Weekly’s fall TV preview issue (on stands Sept. 11). Readers can watch video content straight from the printed page with an interactive player with five channels of CBS and Pepsi Max content. When you open the ad, you’re greeted with a video introduction by the characters from Monday night sitcom, “The Big Bang Theory,” who explain how to use the “VIP” (Video in Print) player.
