Atari Aint ‘Fraid Of No Ghosts

Share

After the Activision-Vivendi merger left the upcoming Ghostbusters video game without a publisher, many feared that it would be lost in a river of pink slime in some dark New York City sewer. However, there’s some good news about the project just in time for Halloween, reports CinemaBlend.

Dan Aykroyd, who wrote and starred in the two Ghostbusters films, told Dallas radio station 105.3 KLLI this morning that the game had been picked up by Atari. He expects it to hit stores sometime in 2009. Aykroyd did voice work and writing for the game so this is a guy who would know these sorts of things.

BloodRayne studio Terminal Reality is developing versions of the game for PS3, PC, and Xbox 360 while Mushroom Men dev Red Fly will handle the DS, Wii, and PS2 iterations.

We should have a game party and play it together.  It’s like GB3 in many ways… F*ck I love that first movie.  F*CK!

I had a dream last night that I had the idea for the next Ghostbusters movie, and I was explaining it to Matthew and Dan by saying, “it’s 25 years, man.  That’s a LOT of time.  People can reinvent themselves, people are born and become men, people die!  So you can do anything.” and then I became afraid of heights and had to carefully climb down some stairs!
