Take a Peek at the ‘Secret Diary of a Call Girl’
Billie Piper is certainly not Rose in the Showtime series, Secret Diary of a Call Girl. It’s full of naughty language, naughtier parts and probably the WORST music ever to be used anywhere. It bounces between annoying “Sex and the City”-inspired tunes to, get this, a “Midnight Run”-esque riff (episode 6, about 2 mins in, unreal). If Piper wasn’t so charming and nekkid, I’d have probably given up already, but it’s an interesting look behind the scenes of whoredom, and better yet, there’s a neat little sub-plot rolling on that’s starting to warm on me… and it has nothing to do with the bangin’.

I haven’t seen this yet, but from what I’ve heard, it makes whoring look downright pleasant. Like, every guy is a handsome, but misunderstood rich guy who just wants to rub her feet, or something, instead of the kind of gross sacks who typically solicit whores.
But it’s Billie, so I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.
Wait, I’ve seen Pretty Woman. It isn’t downright pleasant? I think this would be a different series altogether if they followed the Hookers at the Point!

Well, pleasant, unpleasant, here’s the real question: Do you get to see Billie’s naughty bits? From what I’ve heard, the show has a lot of nudity, but none of it hers.
Whoever you are “hearing” things from hasn’t seen the show. Stop listening to them. Yes, little Rose is all grown up. I leave it at that.
In all fairness, the show is definitely going for a Sex and the City-vibe instead of a Traffic one, so it’s going to be light with a little bit of dramatic weight. The guys are going to be normal with quirks, just as they were on SOTC (oh god, I’m admitting I watched that show… a lot), but the more I think about it, the more I feel it’s destined to fail as a mass product on Showtime.
I get the sense that ladies don’t want to watch a show about prostitution, no matter why she’s doing it; it’s just too icky. So that leaves guys like us having to sneak in episodes here and there. So at best, we’re talking Red Shoe Diaries. At worst, it’s Night Calls.
This lady is watching it! Don’t know what to make of it. Don’t want to throw out any spoilers but there is one scene where the guy is not handsome at all. Let’s keep in mind that the whoring would be a little pleasant as she said she’s a “high priced” call girl – not a hookers on the point type setting. Wait, I’m starting to sound like I know way too much on the topic….ignore me, ignore me

I finished the whole first season and while I enjoyed watching it, I don’t feel like it’s anything special. I like her though, always have, so I’ll stand by her but I dunno. I wish it made more of an impression.
