Beginning Monday: The “MGM” Is No More
As Disney announced late last year, the Disney-MGM Studios will kick off 2008 with a brand-new name: Disney’s Hollywood Studios. They will make it official on January 7.
The Park was themed around the Golden Age of movies. Since that time, it has grown to provide entertainment experiences that represent “the best of today’s Hollywood”. And the new name, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, “better reflects the attractions and experiences offered at the theme park today as well as those planned for the future,” according to those that say such things for the resort.
Some of those additions on the horizon include this Spring’s “Toy Story Mania!†a new 3-D Toy Story adventure. where you’ll board a ride vehicle and see who can rack up the most points playing midway-style games. There’s also the new “Block Party Bash†parade, which will fill Hollywood Boulevard with high-energy music, aerial acrobatics and the Pixar characters.
Signs with the new name and logo will begin appearing all around the resort this week.
The name change across the entire property will be complete by May.
I know you hate change, but I think this is a good thing. Though the Toy Story ride sounds as awful as the Men in Black one.
I’ve slowly learned to tolerate change. But i do not like change for the worse!
I can live with this, though.
Toy Story Mania might just blow us away in a few months…i have high hopes…
