CHAPTER THREE: DANNY DOES DARKNESS

Then, suddenly with a great QUA-POOF from the ancients, Head of Connery appeared and dispersed Dark Vapor with a blow of his magic breathe. Little Danny rubbed the stank from his eyes and saw that help had finally come. Donkeygosh had made it back to the Town of Village and delivered Danny’s message!

“Greetings Little Danny,” said the Duke of Foxes, “We have heard your plea and have come to aid you in your quest!”

“Thank you, my friends,” spoke Danny, with a wink and a cocksure smile, “With friends like you, we’re sure to save Squirrel the Squirel from WalnutMart!”

H.O.C. smiled his scottish smile – his breath a shining beam of Haggis. “And with my moxie along for the go, you can be sure no more badness shall befall your path!”

Donkeygosh stomped his hooves and shook the flies from his scruff. “EEE-AAAAHHH!” He said, and everyone laughed appropriately.

Night fell fastly. There was much rejoicing and the eatings of ham. Come brightness, the unlikely band of friendsters ambled along the road to Redwood, headed for WalnutMart, to convince the Wizard of Mart that he should rethink his plans for being bad.

Along the way, Donkeygosh became tired. His hooves were weak, and smelled of sneakers with no socks. Head of Connery was helpful, and let Donkeygosh climb upon his Scottish visage. “All aboard my cranium, lad!” He winked. And with that, they approached the gates of Redwood.

A tall dwarf hovered in a nearby tree, fixing his slingshot on our merry band. “HALT, on orders of the Wizard!” He spoke, sounding almost like a person. “We are the heroes,” said Duke of Foxes, “Permit us entrance!”

But Tall Dwarf shook a finger, no-ingly. “I’m sorry, but all those who enter must pass a test of strength and prove themselves worthy.”

Little Danny and his friends exchanged glances of meaning. Little Danny stepped forward. “I will face any test you have, mighty dwarf. Open your gates, and let us meet our fate.”

And with that, the gates swung open…
